  • Conventions (movement/narrative/artist)
  • Intertextuality
  • Representation
  • Audience

All the small things -  Blink 182

conventions - the artist is playing the guitar and singing their song and the video has many sets and characters

intertextuality - one of the shots is very similar too a Christina Aguilera song

representations - Teenagers in the early 2000s / late 90s

audience - teenagers as it matches the representations shown i the video and the genre is typically associated with that age

10) How important do you think music videos are in the marketing and promotion of music artists today? Are music videos still essential to a band or artist's success? You need to form your own opinion here.

I dont think music videos are as important nowerdays as people can listen to more music more often with a range of artist so some artists dont have to try with thier videos as they can easily be listened to on Spotify
also thie music can be listened to on social media platforms as the sound playing in the back of the video
personal connections with artists can be formed without music videos with more frequent interviews on youtube for example
